I don’t know how they managed to delete my review, so here it is again… I left gas in a new mower that I had only used once or twice, so it wouldn’t start. They quoted me $60 to take a look at it, and they said they would apply that against the bill for repairs. I called them after not hearing from them for a week, and they said that I needed a new carburetor for $170, and they would apply the $60 that I already paid against it. When I went to pick it up, the charge had increased to around $250. I complained to the owner, but didn’t get anywhere. It was as if all the staff were in on the scam. So now I could either pay the difference of $190 or walk away and lose a new $300 lawn mower plus the $60 I already paid them. I should have just walked away and let them steal my mower and $60, but I ended up paying them almost another $200. Check their reviews on Yelp and read about them on Nextdoor. I called another repair shop a year later and told him that I was hesitant to commit to paying for a tune up if he couldn’t tell me the price before I brought the mower in because I had a bad experience. His exact response was “Oh, you must have taken the mower to Degen’s”…

I picked up my riding lawn mower today. Over $680 dollars to get it repaired and after 5 minute test drive it breaks down. I can't believe after all this $ I just spent this happens. In addition to the $200 non refundable deposit I paid, I had to pay someone to pick it up and drop it off. So I guess now I have to pay someone again to take it there AND back for this to possibly happen again. I should have checked the reviews before paying my non refundable deposit 😔

Worse company I ever had to deal with in my 15 years of business. Wants you to leave a high non-refundable deposit for an estimate then tell you an outrageous price to keep your deposit. Took a week to finally get to my equipment and has very bad customer service. NEVER TAKE YOUR EQUIPMENT HERE!!!!! Then had the audacity to have my lawnmower in front of the business and make a mockery of how he was going to sell it.
